Allie, I don’t know if this site is still being maintained/if this will get to you. I started a new job in Tahoe last year (we’ve lived here for 9 now) and have been overwhelmed with it and sad that I haven’t kept in touch with a lot of Bay friends, so I didn’t hear this awful news until I opened this website and was shocked to see that your mom’s name was added. I have been a little numb and in disbelief all weekend. I didn’t know your mom as well as I knew your dad, having worked with him for nearly 15 years, but I do know that Randy loved his girls more than anything in the world and that your mom was beautiful and strong, as you said in your letter. I can’t imagine the pain of losing both parents at any time, much less at your age. I have the strongest bond with my daughter, Anya, who just turned 9. My heart has been hurting for you all weekend. I don’t know if you remember us, but Aaron (my husband–his mom worked with your dad and me at Mayfield), Anya, and I are in Truckee and we have a lot of fun and would seriously love it if you want to get away for a Tahoe visit anytime. My email is melissacebe@hotmail.com (that’s how you can find me on FB too). I know you have family who loves you very much and I know that you are strong, but together this seems like too much for any young woman to take. I hope you take the time to heal and that good memories of your family comfort you. Love, Melissa
It’s so hard to believe Randy and Joanie are gone. Allie, our deepest sympathies to you as well as the Ishida and Hurst families.
